Francis Bartolomei
Francis C. Bartolomei, born in Franklin, Massachusetts on January 3, 1922, was a minor league baseball player. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1939 as captain of the baseball team and eventually married Barbara P. Laliberte.
Bartolomei played shortstop for a myriad of minor league teams including the Hamilton Red Wings, Washington Red Birds, Allentown Wings, Houston Buffaloes, Asheville Tourists, Elmira Pioneers, Rochester Red Wings, and Lynchburg Cardinals from 1940-1943 and the Erie Sailors in 1946.
Francis Bartolomei died in Brewster, Massachusetts on September 15, 2004 and is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin.
